背景:1956年出生於韓國釜山
學歷:1978年台大商學系國際貿易組畢業

2010年,創立中文妙方 ,其產品於2013年榮獲德國iF設計大獎之傳達設計獎、 美國 AEP 創意獎、紅點(Red Dot)設計獎。 2009年,擔任總統府國策顧問, 於2013年7月辭職。 2008年3月,共同發起「我們的希望地圖」HopeMap.net行動 2007年3月,推動「ucareicare.net 讓好病人遇上好醫生」行動 2006年,大塊文化推出子品牌「小異」、「茵山外」 2004年3 月,共同募集創立台北書展基金會 2003年3月,創立大辣出版,標榜大膽率性的出版路向。
2001年2月,創辦Net and Books網路與書。 2000年1月,離任商務印書館,專任大塊文化董事長。 1997~1999年底,任職台灣商務印書館總經理兼總編輯。 1996年10月,創立大塊文化,擔任董事長。 1988~1996年,任職時報出版公司總經理。 1979~1987年,先後任職於長橋出版社、2001月刊、生產力月刊、時報新聞週刊等出版 機構,職務包括特約翻譯、編輯、主編、總編輯等。

Bio

Rex How is the founder of Locus Publishing and the founder/inventor of ChineseCUBES. With over thirty years of experience in the publishing industry, Mr. How has become one of the most internationally renowned Chinese publishers. Mr. How was among the first to have helped introduce international copyrights agencies to Taiwan and has endeavored relentlessly to bridge the gap between Chinese and Western publishing. In 2005, Mr. How was honored as one of “The Most Important Chinese Publishers for the Past Decade (1994-2004)” by the China Book Business Report, a highly influential publishing news media outlet in China. Mr. How is also co-founder of the Taipei Book Fair Foundation and was the first chairperson. The Taipei Book Fair is one of Asia’s oldest and most dynamic book fairs.

For over 30 years, sharing my love of reading and striving to make reading easier and more fun, has been my working life pursuit. Creating and working with other creators has allowed me to open my mind to a greater way of thinking and seeing. Being able to interact with them across mediums, genres and cultures, multi-lingual, visual, written, and interactive design constantly refreshes my view of the world and it's possibilities. Personally, I have authored seven books, unbound by genres, I have penned the script of a best-selling graphic novel, creative non-fiction, and memoirs. My passion has recently been intersecting with destiny. China is increasingly taking center stage in the international community and the need for learning the Chinese language is increasing significantly around the world. This is very exciting for me as that I find a true intersection of my love of art, writing and literature in the beauty of Chinese Language, something that I long to share with the world. So I was determined to search for an easier and more effective way of learning Chinese, one that would leverage new concepts, a new approach, and new technology. Soon, the ChineseCUBES concept was born.
